A Letter from Matthew Condon, Bardavon Founder:
Today I’m excited to announce that a new chapter begins for Bardavon. Alex Benson, formally COO, has stepped into the role of CEO and I will continue contributing to the company from my role on the board.
This is an important next step for Bardavon, and one that puts us in the best position for the years ahead. I have spent the past decade driving Bardavon from an idea to where it is today – but the path ahead requires a leader with Alex’s unique set of skills and abilities.
This unique set of skills were why we hired Alex over 2 years ago, and why he was almost immediately identified as a strong choice to be my successor. He brings a remarkable intellect, an intense drive, and (most importantly) a relentless commitment to Bardavon’s mission and vision. His upward path at Bardavon was fast – but equally earned – as he led from the start with indifference to the various titles he has had during these past two years. Now, in his new role as CEO, Alex will use those talents and abilities that have defined his history to guide Bardavon as we incorporate new solutions into our platform and partner with an expanding list of industry leaders.
I was recently asked – what words of wisdom do you have for Alex as he steps into the role of CEO? My answer was – to balance your time between driving Bardavon’s unique value proposition forward while prioritizing the voices of all our supporters. Pushing for value and change in healthcare requires intensity and perseverance, but in the pursuit of those goals it has been equally important for us to commit to listening and understanding the stories, the needs, and the hopes of our partners and team members. Our team and partners at Bardavon are truly exceptional, and maintaining a strong focus on them will be crucial.
I am immensely proud of what we have built at Bardavon over the past 10+ years. I love this company and what it represents to the marketplace. Over the past decade, we have persevered through remarkable growth, a global pandemic, market shifts, challenging times, the loss of beloved colleagues and associates… and yet have always maintained our commitment to a company vision. Our mission was to bring exceptional service and communication to a challenging industry, and we’ve achieved that. The solutions we have delivered have not only enhanced care but have also made it more effective and efficient. That was the company we dreamt of building when we formed Bardavon, and now, that is the company I am honored to pass on to Alex to drive it forward.
I am also especially proud that we accomplished this from right here in Kansas City. This community has been amazing to us, proving that we could raise capital, build a compassionate, care-centric business, and execute a national mission. We have even expanded our reach beyond the US borders, serving clients in Australia. It’s been a big vision, and we’ve made it a reality because of the support of this great city.
As I move on to the next chapter, I am looking forward to spending more time with family and friends. This break will offer me a fresh perspective and allow me to contribute a new voice and outlook when the time is right. Looking back on my years at Bardavon, I am filled with appreciation for all the people who supported me and this company along the way… it was one of my greatest joys to lead this group as CEO.
